Calls
The workshop on Creative-text Translation and Technology (CTT) aims to attract a broad range of attendees, such as researchers, educators, translators and industry stakeholders, to discuss the applicability of language technology, specifically translation technology such as machine translation (MT) or computer-assisted translation (CAT), to creative use cases such as marketing, literature and poetry, audiovisual translation, and multilingual content creation on social media. We also encourage paper submissions on reception studies, and the development and user-testing of tools related to creative-text translation.
Submission deadline: (15 April 2024) 24 April 2024 (23:59 GMT)
Workshop date: 27 June 2024
Topics
CTT targets a broad audience, encouraging submissions by translators, tool builders and users, researchers and students, and developers alike who work with/on creative-text translation in terms of domain and the use of language technology in those domains. Topics include but are not limited to:
computer-assisted/machine translation in marketing
computer-assisted/machine translation of literary works, including poetry and prose
computer-assisted/machine translation in audiovisual translation
computer-assisted/machine translation in subtitling

resources (models, datasets, tools) for multilingual (or even parallel) creative-text translation
user studies on creative-text CAT/MT
limitations of current language technology in creative domains
Types of submissions
We accept both short and long papers:
Short papers of up to 4 pages (excluding references and appendices) are intended for a poster session
Long papers of up to 10 pages (excluding references and appendices) are intended for oral presentations, following the EAMT guidelines for the research track
This categorization is not fixed, though. Depending on the actual number of submissions we may have to change the presentation format of some papers for feasibility.
Accepted papers will be published in the EAMT2024 proceedings if (and only if) they were also presented in person at the workshop.
Submission policy, information and template
Submissions must be anonymized. The review will be double-blind.
Submissions should be formatted according to the official EAMT2024 style templates.
Both types of contributions should be submitted as PDF using the OpenReview management system.
Work that has been or is planned to be submitted to other venues must be declared as such. Upon acceptance at CTT, it must be withdrawn from the other venues.
